Let’s be honest are you wishing or working?
Honesty is a rare commodity especially when we are dealing with ourselves. We tell ourselves we want something, some type of change in our lives but we don’t really make ourselves look at what it takes to get it. An example, I want to loose ten pounds, ok am I looking for a magic pill or potion or do I realize I’m going to have to change my lifestyle. You don’t loose weight by simply taking a pill, you have to cut back on what you eat, and how much you eat. And your going to have to incorporate some form of exercise, because doing those things is the only way to keep those ten pounds off for good.
We tell ourselves we need to make more money, or I need a new job. A change has to take place in order to obtain those things. It takes courage to make any kind of change, we have to be willing to step outside our comfort zone and be willing to do something new.
We also have to be careful with the words we use with ourselves. If I say, I’m going to try to loose ten pounds Ive just given myself a way out, a reason to fail. As soon as I have a craving for something I shouldn’t have right now, it’s ok because “ I tried”, however if I say I’m going to loose ten pounds I’ve made a definite statement. We actually listen to what we tell ourselves. Don’t try, Do!
Nothing changes if nothing changes. What are you willing to change in order to get what you want? It doesn’t matter what others think of these changes, it’s your journey through life not theirs. If you want to make a change be honest with yourself about getting to work to make it happen. Be determined to stay with it until you have the results you envisioned at the beginning. So when is a good time to start making the changes you want? What are you doing right now? Now is an excellent time to get started, if not now when?
